The Community College of Philadelphia is interested in establishing partnerships that features flexible, innovative, student exchange options. CCP is interested in developing student exchanges, short-term travel programs, language study programs, and collaborative teaching. A range of models are possible including, a two-way summer institutes, in which a cohort of students and faculty from each institution would travel, study, teach and conduct research at the other institution in specified fields, such as environmental conservation, early childhood education, global relations, etc. Prior to travel, students will work together through online learning in the relevant content area. In addition, the language instruction offered at each institution will be supplemented by joint classes online.
Another example is a campus-in-campus learning initiatives to establish “virtual majors or areas of focus” at the partner institutions. A virtual Japanese studies focus, within the International Studies degree program, could establish a cohort of students who are pursuing a distinction in Asian studies, and link this cohort with students and faculty at the partner institution.
CCP has a robust English language program, a variety of liberal arts, STEM, and Business-related programs. Exchange students would benefit from our supportive, small class size and student support services designed to ease the transition for new students.
