Saitama University eagerly seeks various partnership opportunities as one of 42 selected universities for the “Go Global Japan (GGJ)” Project, an intensive governmental funding for internationalization. In addition to our current 138 international partners from 46 countries for academic and student exchange, we continuously welcome more diversity in term of regions, countries, institutional size, research and education in humanities and sciences, and type/duration of programs. As a national research university in the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, our internationalization in scientific research is separately supported by the government. It is called the “Lab-to-Lab” Project. The funding covers the wide range of globally attractive research fields. For the details, please see the web site: http://lab-to-lab.jp/.
We are open for joint application for international research grants, collaborative research, co-supervising of postgraduate students, establishing double degree programs etc. Moreover, Our Faculty of Liberal Arts has “Japanese Studies Program,” in which foreign students can master core aspects of Japan in English. The program also has its 4-week intensive summer program. This small-size residential program has succeeded last 2 years since its birth with focused learning on “Japan” as well as weekend explorations in Tokyo with new international peers.
